Livelihood
The Self-Reliant Farm Program helps communities create sustainable ways to earn a living by supporting local businesses, agriculture, and vocational training. Our goal is to provide practical opportunities that lead to economic stability and self-reliance.

Dried Fish Processing Facility
In response to a request from women of Sitio Cabulihan, we plan to establish a dried fish processing facility (“daingan”). This project will supplement incomes for 40 participating families and bring significant economic benefits to the community.

Local Fishing Support
After the farm gained electricity, a new opportunity emerged to support local fishermen by providing ice. In the past, they had to travel to a neighboring town to preserve their fresh catch. Now, they can get ice within the community, making their work easier and more sustainable.

Automotive Shop
We are in the early stages of opening a small automotive repair shop, managed by a scholar who recently graduated from automotive vocational training. This project will create local livelihood while providing a truly needed service.

Agriculture Support
Two scholars of the Self-Reliant Farm are expected to graduate next year and will return to Culion to serve the community. They will bring back valuable knowledge and skills that can help improve local farming, and share practical expertise with others, creating lasting benefit for future generations.

Support Sustainable Livelihoods
In Sitio Cabulihan, we are establishing a dried fish processing facility to create sustainable income for families. We have secured space for production from a 3.5 hectare land donation, and the Archdiocese has pledged to support distribution. This project will create jobs, boost economic stability, and empower the local fishing industry.
